#COVER1 Bobcats: Can San Angelo Central Control Its Own Destiny Following District Loss To Euless Trinity?

BEDFORD, TX — The Euless Trinity Trojans run a three defensive back set with 1,265 pounds of flesh. Twins weigh 430 and the middle guy is 405. That didn’t stop the San Angelo Central offense from scoring 24 points on them at the HEB ISD’s Pennington Stadium Friday night.

The first half saw the Bobcats match Trinity’s stats. Central had eight first downs, 83 yards rushing and 179 yards in the air. Trinity had 9 first downs, 79 passing yards and 180 rushing, The near-even stats did not play out on the scoreboard. The Trojans led 28-17 at the end of the first half.

Euless Trinity gained their stride in the second half with a power run offense for which Central could find no good answer. Trinity ran past Central to 49-24 at the end of the game by amassing 524 total yards, 410 on the ground. Central had 129 yards rushing and the rest passing with 386 total yards.

The final score was 49-24 leaving Euless Trinity 5-0 for their season. Central drops to 2-3. Central hosts Abilene at home next Friday. The still-undefeated Euless Trinity varsity goes to Birdville FAAC to play Haltom on Friday.
