San Angelo Central Looks To Fill Key Positions

SAN ANGELO, TX -- You can say 2018 was somewhat of a perfect storm for the San Angelo Central Bobcats. Following a season-ending injury to QB1 Maverick McIvor, Malachi Brown along with a number of Central underclassmen did some serious growing up en route to a 7-4 finish and early playoff exit against Arlington Lamar in the Class 6A Division I Playoffs.

What's great about the past is what you're able to learn from. the Bobcats return 14 total starters from a year ago and look to add another gear to their fast-paced spread offense.

Senior running back Kris Jackson along with junior ball carriers Isaiah Dale and Ashton Hartsfield will lead the Bobcats ground attack. New names, but three running backs who bring their own style of play to the table.

On defense, the Angry Orange is tasked with having to fill the shoes of first-team all-district linebacker Daylon Green.

The Bobcats are counting on Cameron Morrision along with Jacob Tandoh to fill the linebacker positions.

Central's defensive line who returns four starters led by Xy'Kerion Paulk, Brady Allen, Anthony Gonzales, and Boston Johnson will anchor the Bobcats defense in 2019.
