Sheriff's Office: Flood Response Staged By TDEM And Local Law Enforcement

SAN ANGELO, TX - In response to flooding conditions in Tom Green County, the Texas Division of Emergency Management will be activating to "Level III" in support of the Tom Green County/San Angelo Office of Emergency Management.

According to the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, local TXDOT, DPS, TPWD, Texas Task Force 1 Boat Crew, and the National Weather Service are activated and working with the Tom Green County OEM.

Several roads have moving water running over the roadway. Local volunteer fire departments have positioned "high-profile vehicles" in the county to respond to calls for assistance.

Due to an "extremely high call volume," the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office requests citizens to consult https://drivetexas.org/ before calling the sheriff's office for road conditions.

Citizens are encouraged to slow down and use extreme caution when approaching roadways underwater.

Turn around, don't drown!
