Tom Green County Library Employee Honored for Decades of Book Preservation

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Public Library System is celebrating a milestone by honoring an employee's 39 years of dedication and service. 

"For an incredible 39 years, Mary (Garza) has been the backbone of our Tom Green County Public Library System, serving tirelessly as a Library Assistant in the Processing Department," the library stated. "(Garza) isn't just any book-mender – she's a master of her craft, having created her own specialty in fixing books with unparalleled skill and dedication. Her meticulous techniques have kept our beloved books held together through the years, preserving countless stories for generations to come."

The library goes on to state that Garza is more than just a skilled technician; "she's the heart and soul of her department."

"Her warmth, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her work have not only kept our library running smoothly but have also touched the lives of everyone she encounters," information from the library reads. 

According to the library, Garza's 39 years of service represent a remarkable achievement and a testament to her passion for books and her love for what she does.
