Burn Ban Lifted in Tom Green County for One Week

SAN ANGELO, TX – Tom Green County Commissioners Tuesday temporarily lifted the burn ban during their regular meeting.

Pct. 1 commissioner Ralph Hoelscher during the meeting asked if the 90 days were up.  The court issued the ban earlier this summer because of the hot and dry conditions.

Tom Green County Judge Steve Floyd said, "there was a lot of stuff out there that needed to be burned."

Pct. 3 commissioner Rick Bacon said he had received several calls from residents in Grape Creek wanting the burn ban lifted.

Bacon made a motion to lift the burn ban for one week.  Commissioner Bill Ford seconded the motion.

The court voted unanimously to life the burn ban for one week beginning immediately.
