Law Enforcement Warns of Warrant Scam

The San Angelo Police department is warning citizens about the "Warrant Scam" that is currently circulating.

The San Angelo Police Department, along with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, have received complaints from citizens regarding a warrant scam.

Citizens said they have received phone calls from a subject claiming to be with the SO or PD.  The subject claims that you have an outstanding arrest warrant that requires immediate payment to avoid going to jail.  One scammer is telling citizens to meet him at the courthouse with cash.

This is a SCAM, please do not agree to meet anyone with payment.  If you are the victim of this scam, notify the TGCSO or SAPD to make a report.

Please call the Municipal or County Courts for questions about active warrants.

Dang it, I just gave $500 to a guy from India that told me I had a warrant for a Flowing with Traffic Violation. I thought it sounded suspicious.
