Another man was charged and jailed for sexual abuse of a child continuous on Monday, this time on a victim under the age of 14. The charge is at least the fourth this year involving sexual assault or abuse of a child; the man has no further records in Tom Green County.
Also jailed on Monday was a man charged with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old. In June of this year, that same man was arrested and charged with DWI, his second offense.
In addition to the two men, 21 individuals were booked into the county jail on Monday, including three for assault, three more for DWI, two for theft, two for pot and two for possession. Some of those were jailed on warrants or committments.
Twenty-eight inmates were released on Monday, among them Jeremiah Mendez Sosa, who was arrested and booked on May 29 for graffiti on the Central High School campus. Sosa's artwork, which has been widely regarded as "just a senior prank", depicts the word 'peace' along with 'class of 2014'. Due to his being arrested for the crime, a state jail felony, Sosa missed graduation this year. If convicted, he could serve up to two years in a state jail.
