SAPD Seek Info on Property Damage Caused by 'Mudding'

The San Angelo Police Department is asking for help in locating the person(s) responsible for causing damage to a gate and the maintained dirt roads out at the Equalization Channel this weekend.

Sometime during the late night hours of May 24 to the early morning hours of May 25, an unknown person(s) forced entry through and damaged the gate out at the Equalization Channel leading to the North Pool of Twin Buttes.  After forcing their way through the gate, the offender(s) drove into the North Pool land area and caused extensive damage by “mudding” on the maintained dirt roads.

City Officials with the Operations Department estimate the cost to repair the damaged gate and roadways will be $5,000-8,000.

If you have any information about the identity or location of the person(s) responsible for the damage, please call the San Angelo Police Department’s 24 hour Tip Hotline at 1-855-TIPS-247.  You can also text your tips, text TIP SAPD followed by your message, to 888777.  You can submit Tips online at http://local.nixle.com/tip/san-angelo-police-department/

Look on San Angelo Connection fb page in the storm pictures and there is a pic of a group out at Twin Buttes. Some of them are identified and acknowledged it.
I saw a lake patrol there and there were many vehicles covered in mud!! Why not use the dash cam like we often see on police investigations! Simple!!
