Truck Demolished in Mysterious Crash on U.S.87 in Wall, No Other Vehicle in Sight

A mysterious crash has traffic blocked on on U.S. 87 in Wall between the Alon gas station and Wall High School.

The wreck involves a late model gold F-150 stepside, however no other vehicle is in sight. A witness on scene--a truck driver--says he was driving down the highway when he noticed the truck in the left turning lane, facing the opposite direction.

The truck driver stopped and helped the single occupant of the F-150, an elderly man, out of the vehicle, who he said seemed disoriented. He then called 911.

DPS Troopers en route to San Angelo arrived just after the truck driver and are currently investigating the crash.

San Angelo Fire Department's Medic 10 is currently treating the man for what appear to be minor injuries, and Wall Volunteer Fire Department is also on scene.

The man involved in the crash says he can't remember what hit him.

All northbound traffic is being diverted onto old U.S. 87 around Wall High School.

Update: 10:38 p.m.

Tomorrow's edition of American Classifieds lie scattered on the ground around the truck. The vehicle is facing south on the northbound median shoulder. Skid marks originate from the median crossing towards Old 87 and Wall High School to the northeast.

Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies are also on scene.

Update 10:43 p.m.

DPS Troopers are still investigating, but it appears that it will be assessed a felony hit and run. The sergeant is being called to the scene.

The story will be updated when an accident report is available.
