Farewell to the Ol' Shogun: San Angelo Hibachi and Sushi Spot Closes After 16 Years

SAN ANGELO, TX — After more than a decade and a half as a go-to spot for hibachi grills, sushi, and entertaining chef performances, Shogun Steakhouse & Sushi has permanently closed its doors at 4397 Sunset Drive #100.

Signs posted on the restaurant's windows announce the closure effective December 4, 2025. The heartfelt messages thank customers who "became friends and family over the 16 years" and express appreciation for the shared experiences and patronage.

"We will sadly be closing our doors," one sign reads. "It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our customers... But it is time to say our goodbyes. We treasure the shared experience with you and appreciate your patronage greatly. Thanks again for visiting Shogun Steakhouse & Sushi."

Online listings on Google now mark the business as "permanently closed," though no official statement or reason for the shutdown has been released by owners.

The restaurant's Facebook page has been inactive for almost a year.
