Bass Pro Shops to Open Store in Odessa Next Week

ODESSA, TX — A 20,000-gallon, mineshaft-themed aquarium will be the centerpiece of the new Bass Pro Shops opening in Odessa next week.

The outdoor retail giant will hold its grand opening on Tuesday, Oct. 29, starting with an “Evening for Conservation,” a company tradition that raises money for local conservation groups. Fifteen percent of all sales that evening will be donated to local organizations supporting outdoor and wildlife efforts.

The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with a performance by country artist Austin Brown, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m.

The celebration will continue throughout the weekend with family-friendly events and storewide discounts. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s CLUB Members will receive 10% off nearly all items from Oct. 29 through Nov. 2.

Halloween festivities will take place Friday, Oct. 31, with free candy giveaways for children, while supplies last. Daily door prizes will be awarded to the first 200 families through the doors from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.

The store’s signature aquarium will house around 180 native fish species, including largemouth bass, channel catfish, longnose gar, and freshwater drum. Its mining-themed design pays tribute to the region’s historical ties to the mining industry.
