Texas Burger Location in San Angelo Has Closed

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Burger restaurant on Knickerbocker Road has permanently closed less than four years after opening its doors.

The building at 1502 Knickerbocker Road is empty, its drive-thru screens are turned off, and all exterior signage — including the brand’s signature red circular sign — has been removed. The San Angelo location is no longer listed on the company’s website.

The West Texas-based burger chain opened the San Angelo location on July 2, 2021, following nearly 10 months of construction.

Founded by Bobby D. Cox, Texas Burger has operated in the region since 1967 and currently maintains locations in Midland, Odessa, and Andrews. Cox is also a part of other popular chains including Rosa’s Cafe and Taco Villa.
