Medical Arts Pharmacy Closing After 68 Years in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – After nearly seven decades of serving San Angelo and surrounding communities, Medical Arts Pharmacy has announced it will permanently close its doors on January 31.

The pharmacy, located at 2102 Pecos St., cited challenges stemming from inadequate insurance reimbursements, primarily driven by Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), as the reason for the closure.

In a statement posted on social media, the pharmacy’s team shared that these financial difficulties had made it impossible to continue operations.

“This decision was not made lightly,” the statement read. “We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers, staff, and this wonderful community for your trust and support over the decades. Serving you has been our greatest honor.”

Customers with prescriptions at Medical Arts Pharmacy are encouraged to contact the business before January 31 for assistance with transferring their prescriptions to another provider.
