Dear Friends and Supporters of Meals For The Elderly,
It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure as the Executive Director of Meals For The Elderly, effective September 25, 2024. My wife and our family have been afforded an incredible new opportunity that will see us relocating and beginning a new adventure. Serving in this capacity for the past four years has been an immense honor, and I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside the dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and partners who make our mission possible.
When I joined the Meals family in 2020, the excitement was palpable, yet the responsibility was daunting. Stepping into a leadership role is always a challenge, especially within an organization held in such high regard. Despite the hurdles we faced, from the Covid pandemic to the Winter Storm that impacted all Texans, we ensured that every home-bound individual in our community received a warm meal and a kind visit. The expansion of Meals For The Elderly has been nothing short of amazing over these years. We've not only increased the number of meals delivered but also significantly improved the quality of life for our seniors through various initiatives and programs. This progress is a reflection of the collective effort and dedication of our staff, volunteers, and every community member.
As I prepare for this new chapter, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your trust and collaboration. The achievements of Meals For The Elderly are not the result of one person's efforts but rather the culmination of our shared commitment to our mission. I am confident that the board of directors will appoint a qualified and passionate leader who will continue to advance the vision and values of Meals For The Elderly. Rest assured that I will continue to work closely with the Board and staff during this process to ensure a seamless transition as well as supporting the new Executive Director once they begin.
I want to thank you all for your trust, support, and collaboration during my tenure. Your involvement has been the foundation of our accomplishments, and I am forever thankful for the difference we have made together. I will always cherish the memories and the lessons I have learned from this amazing community. I hope to stay in touch with many of you, and I look forward to seeing the future success of Meals For The Elderly.
Sincerely,
Dason Tucker
Executive Director
