Tom Green County Unemployment Rate Changes in March

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County reported a decrease in its unemployment rate from 3.9 percent in February to 3.5 percent in March, according to the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) report.

The report, provided by the Texas Workforce Commission, shows a positive shift in the county's labor market, with the number of unemployed individuals decreasing from 2,245 in February to 2,014 in March. 

Despite a slight shrink in the civilian labor force from 57,408 to 57,287, the employment numbers marginally improved, rising from 55,163 to 55,273.

In March 2023, the county reported an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent, with 1,938 out of work. 

The state's jobless rate remains unchanged, holding steady at 3.9 percent.
