SAN ANGELO, TX — The Sunset Mall now has a candy store that sells candy by the pound.
“Candy Craze” officially started serving customers today, March 29, within the San Angelo mall located at 4001 Sunset Dr.
The store offers more than just candy. Candy Craze also serves snacks, toys, engraving, and more.
The store is owned by husband-and-wife Mohammad and Cidra Towfeeq.
“I felt like every city has a good candy store,” Mohammad told San Angelo LIVE! “I felt like San Angelo needed that.”
Inside the store, customers can find a 360 photo booth where pictures can be airdropped back to the customer.
Engraving items such as keychains is part of the business model but is currently not operational.
“The goal is to have things competitive and priced reasonably,” he said.
Sodas, for example, were priced at 50 cents.
Phone accessories, sunglasses, fragrances, and watches are also among the items inside Candy Craze.
“The goal is to keep all of the different kinds of candies that are out there,” the owner said. "If we are missing some products and we feel like there’s a demand for them, we are going to continue building on them."
The owner stressed his efforts to offer well-priced “unique items” and that more is coming in the future.
"I would say 50 percent of the stuff here you can’t find anywhere else in San Angelo,” he said.
Sunset Mall’s business hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
