Shuttered Southwest Plaza Wing Joint Now Under New Ownership

SAN ANGELO— Both Wingstop locations in San Angelo are now owned by the same person according to information provided to San Angelo Live Wednesday.

Earlier this month, San Angelo LIVE! ran an article on how the Wingstop in Southwest Plaza was closed. This left hot wings fans on the south side of town out in the cold.  Wednesday, the owner of the 29th Street Wingstop location took over the one in Southwest Plaza.

That owner is Douglas Williams. A Facebook message San Angelo LIVE! received reads:

To whom it may concern, we are excited to inform you that the Wingstop location on Knickerbocker Road closure is only temporary due to a few minor repairs. We are proud to announce that it is under new ownership from a fellow West Texan, Douglas Williams, who also operate the other San Angelo location on 29th Street, as well as several other across the Permian Basin.

We look forward to this new venture as we continue our mission to serve the world flavor. We will reach back out with a opening date as soon as the repairs are complete.

Thank you.
