SAN ANGELO – Tuesday is Election Day in Texas as voters head to the polls to vote for or against 14 amendments proposed to the Texas Constitution by the Legislature earlier this year.
There was a steady line at the MHMR polling location at 1501 W. Beauregard around 7:30 a.m.
Historically, voter turnout in Constitutional Amendment elections is very low, so around 10% of voters can make major changes to the Texas Constitution that affect everyone like reducing property tax, increasing teacher retirement, creating a water fund and a huge increase in funding for state parks.
