SAN ANGELO, TX – Every year, First Financial Bank employees take Columbus Day/Indigenous People's Day to help serve the community.
This year, for the 8th year in a row, the team took Columbus Day and Indigenous People's Day to help out a number of non-profits get some work done. Of course, with today being a National Holiday, banks are closed.
This day, however, gives employees the chance to sacrifice one holiday to help out people who help 365 days a year. Those non-profits included the San Angelo State Park, Habitat for Humanity’s “ReStore” facility, Family Shelter, San Angelo Early Childhood Center, United Way of the Concho Valley, Fort Concho, and Baptist Memorial Retirement Center.
“Our communities and the valued relationships we have with our customers are the lifelines that sustain us as a financial institution,” said Chris Evatt, President of First Financial Bank, San Angelo. “We are proud to give back to our communities once again through the bank’s Day of Service initiative and are also extremely fortunate to work with our customers daily who entrust First Financial Bank with their banking needs.”
This event was not only held in San Angelo but First Financial Bank's 79 branches. This means that over 1,000 employees volunteered during the event.
