Local Florist Celebrates 80th Anniversary

SAN ANGELO – The Friendly Flower Shop is celebrating its 80th anniversary during the month of October. The shop, located on Johnson St. in San Angelo, opened its doors in 1943 and has been continuously family-owned and operated since its inception. Owner Christi Yancey, a fourth-generation florist, has operated the business for the last twenty-five years, and she loves what she does. According to Christi, “It is more than just a business. I love the fact that I get to celebrate life’s milestones with my customers–whether it is the birth of a baby, a birthday, an anniversary, or even providing flowers for a funeral. I am honored that people choose to include me in their lives.”

In addition to fresh flowers, Friendly Flower offers a variety of gift items from Fredricksburg Farms, Willow Tree, Orleans, Mud Pie, and much more. They also carry a wide variety of houseplants, which make great gifts, and their selection of gifts changes seasonally. Every Wednesday, The Friendly Flower Shop has cash and carries flowers for fifty percent off the regular price.

To celebrate their 80th anniversary, The Friendly Flower Shop will be offering deals each week in the month of October, and they will be doing a drawing for a grand prize on Facebook. Stop by and see them in person at 2501 Johnson Street, call them at 325-947-8886, or visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thefriendlyflowershop.
