SAN ANGELO – The first phase of a $39.7 million dollar project to widen Old Christoval Road to five lanes begins Monday, August 14. This phase will include the relocation of waterlines and will not impact traffic.
According to TxDot San Angelo, the project will include widening the roadway from the current two lanes to four lanes with a turning lane. The expansion will run from S. Chadbourne St. south to Loop 306.
The route has become more heavily traveled by agriculture, business and Goodfellow Air Force Base personnel.
When construction begins on the roadway, traffic will be reduced to one lane and motorists will be notified of any delays.
