Annual Sealcoating Beginning in North San Angelo Friday

 

SAN ANGELO – The City of San Angelo will begin sealcoating streets in north San Angelo Friday.  

Sealcoating is applying a thin coating of asphalt and rock to the surface of the road to extend the life of the pavement.  

According to information from the city, sealcoating will begin this Friday, Aug. 4. See list of roads that will be sealcoated first below. 

Where: The two-lane roads listed below will be closed to one lane.

  • Cauley Lane from Grape Creek Road to Fruitland Farm Road.
  • Culwell Street from Baze Street to Hughes Street.
  • E 28th Street (Armstrong Street cul-de-sac).
  • E 37th Street from N Bell Street to Pruitt Drive.
  • Grape Creek Road from Estate Drive to Cauley Lane.
  • Hughes Street from Bell Street to Culwell Street.
  • N Bell Street from Old Ballinger Hwy to E 37th Street.
  • Sam Street (N Bell Street cul-de-sac).

When: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4. to end of August

Great idea!  Start the sealcoating when it's 105 degrees outside!  Simply genius! 

It actually is the best time to do it, as the hot pavement temps helps the asphalt flow into the cracks much, much easier.....
