Mendez Cafe in Danger of Closing

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Local Mexican restaurant Mendez Cafe on Friday told the community that they could be shutting down the business. 

A post on the Mendez Cafe's Facebook page told its followers that they have a week to make their final decision. The post shows the public the harsh reality that they have been struggling for months. 

"Unfortunately we’ve been fighting to stay open the last couple of months. It has not been easy and we feel like we have nothing left but to ask for help from our community to keep our doors open." stated the post. "We have a week left until we determine whether our doors stay open or if we have to close them"

Mendez Cafe has been open in San Angelo for more than a decade. They are known for their delicious Mexican food and was nominated in San Angelo LIVE!'s best burrito in town competition.

"All we ask is to support local and share our posts, it will go a long way for us. Get the word out there & come enjoy some good food!" read the post. "Serving San Angelo for the last 12 years has been an honor. We just hope we can continue to serve y’all some of the best Mexican food in town. Thank you to all of our loyal customers for all the love & support!"

Mendez Cafe is located at 3415 S. Chadbourne St. and is open daily beginning at 8 a.m.
