San Angelo City Council Awards Bids for Next Major Street Project

 

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo City Council Tuesday awarded two bids totaling over $10 million to reconstruct Howard St. from Sherwood Way to Edmund Blvd. as he next major project in the 10 year, $80 million street rehabilitation bond program.

The council voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda which included the following two items: 

1. Consider awarding ES-02-23 Howard Street Roadway Project to Reece Albert, Inc. in the
amount of $7,435,902.89 and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all
related documents.

2. Consider awarding WU-08-23 Howard Street Utility Replacement to Darnell Construction,
LLC. in the amount of $3,560,732.60, and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and
execute all related documents.

The Howard St. project follows complete reconstruction of utilities and paving on MLK Blvd., Bell St., Southwest Blvd.,  and the current project on College Hills Blvd.
