WATCH: Something to Bark About – Dog Park Pavilion Going Up!

SAN ANGELO – City Parks crews began installing the frame for the new Pavilion at the Dog Park on College Hills and Millbrook Monday morning.

As we reported earlier, the new Pavilion was made possible by a $75,000 private donation.

The dog park is a fenced-in area where dogs can run, play and socialize with other dogs off their leashes. San Angelo's dog park is segregated, with one area for smaller dogs and another for larger breeds. There are entrance areas where the dogs are brought in on a leash and then taken to their respective off-leash area.

This park isn't just for the dogs; it's also a great place for people to socialize. Dog parks create an awesome venue for visitors and dog owners and dog lovers to meet each other, become friends and make their community a better one through social interaction.

The dog park is made possible by generous donations of the public, some half-cent sales tax funds from the City of San Angelo Development Corporation and construction by Raymond Meza Fence Co., as well Parks employees.

The new Pavilion at the San Angelo Dog Park is scheduled to be completed this summer.

College Hills Blvd. is currently under construction from Ave. N to Sunset so the best way to access the Dog Park is off of Millbrook.
