City of San Angelo Will Pay You $25 to Inspect Your Waterline

SAN ANGELO – A contractor for the City of San Angelo is set to begin inspecting waterlines for lead on Monday and residents can receive a gift card for participating in the program.

According to information from the City, from Monday, Feb. 27, through June, The Rios Group, Inc. will begin water line inspections for lead at volunteer properties. Selected properties will receive an email or letter with customer instructions on how to prepare for the inspection.

Property owners will receive a $25 Visa gift card within 60 days of inspection.

Those interested in signing up their property for a water service line inspection may complete the Authorization to Access Private Property form at cosatx.us/leadprotectionprogram. Customers who complete the form will be notified if their property is selected for an inspection.

The purpose of these inspections is to protect communities from the risks of lead exposure from drinking water flowing through lead-based pipes. Inspections are now required by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Questions may be directed to the Water Customer Service Department at 325-657-4323. For more information, visit cosatx.us/leadprotectionprogram.
