TxDOT: Look for Crews Crack Sealing on San Angelo Roadways

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo motorists are advised to be on the lookout for work crews sealing cracks on area roadways for the next few days.

Texas Department of Transportation San Angelo District officials say D&M Contractors have workers on foot sealing cracks along major thoroughfares in San Angelo.

Here's the latest from TxDOT San Angelo Public Information Officer Karen Threlkeld:

"D&M Contractors is the contractor who is doing the crack seal work and they should be done in town by the end of the week, possibly Saturday morning at the latest. They are doing Sherwood Way, Knickerbocker Rd.  Bryant, Blvd. and the frontage roads of the loop. It is a mobile operation but they are having to do lane closures as they work, so it is affecting traffic. They are avoiding the higher traffic areas of town in early morning, so we’re doing what we can to work around traffic but there will never be a good time to shut down lanes in these locations."

"The contractor is on foot during these operations and we are seeing many cars getting in a huge hurry and cutting around the traffic control devices and our own TxDOT inspection vehicles.  This is very dangerous for not only the motorists but our workers."

"We ask that the public use patience and caution when they encounter this moving operation."
