Winter Storm Closures for Wednesday Feb. 1, 2023

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The following are weather related closures and delays for Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023.

Businesses

Concho Educators Federal Credit Union - Locations across town will open up at 10 a.m. 

H-E-B - Both H-E-B locations will close at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2023. Expect delays in store openings. 

San Angelo Federal Credit Union -  Due to the bad weather & dangerous road conditions, the drive thru will open at 9:30 am & the lobby will open at 10 am on Wednesday, February 1st. The ATM is available for withdrawals. We encourage use of our online banking services to access your account 24/7. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We care about the safety of our employees & our members. Please be careful & drive safe!

United Market Street - San Angelo's Market Street location will close at 10 p.m on Jan. 31, 2023.  Expect delays in the store's opening on Feb. 1, 2023.

Urban Salt - Closed Wednesday due to inclement weather. See you Thursday!

Events

National Prayer Breakfast - The National Prayer Breakfast that was scheduled to be held Thursday at the Convention Center has been canceled. 

Government

City of San Angelo Warming Shelter - The City of San Angelo warming shelter is open from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. each night through Friday, Feb. 3, at Carl Ray Johnson Recreation Center, 1103 Farr St.  Volunteers are needed to help run the warming shelter; sign up at https://signup.com/go/rwfuiKv. The American Red Cross will provide cots.  Animals are permitted but must not be aggressive or disruptive. 

City of San Angelo offices will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 1, and will delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 2 due to inclement weather. City offices will open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 2. We encourage citizens to check local weather services for updates regarding road conditions before traveling. Please use caution when driving in icy conditions and take your time if you have to get out and travel on the roadways.

Trash service will not operate on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and is planning for a late start on Thursday, Feb. 2 due to inclement weather. The landfill will also be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 2. Thursday customers will receive service on Friday, and Friday on Saturday. Days that were not serviced this week will be serviced next week. Please place your bins out for pickup and leave them out until they are serviced. The City will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Concho Valley Transit – Due to continued deteriorating weather conditions, Concho Valley Transit will be closed, and all services will be suspended on February 1, 2023. 

Tom Green County Offices - All Tom Green County Offices will be closed on Feb. 1, 2023.

Schools

Angelo State University - Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, classes at Angelo State University have been cancelled and the university will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 1. University business hours will be delayed until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, and all classes before 10 a.m. are cancelled. 11 a.m. classes will continue as scheduled.

Crocket County CCSD - CCCCSD will release students on Jan. 31 at 1:15 p.m. We will feed students at 1:15 and release them. If your child does not eat at school they will be released at 1:15. We ask that everyone be careful. OHS will dismiss for lunch at 1:15. CCCCSD will not have school Wednesday Feb. 1, 2023.

Eden CISD - Eden CISD will be closed on Wednesday, February 1, due to icy roads. Stay safe and warm.

Grape Creek ISD - Classes have been canceled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023. Classes are scheduled to resume Thursday at 10 a.m.

Howard College - Due to ongoing weather and road conditions, Howard College San Angelo will be closed Tuesday, 1-31-23. All classes are canceled, and all offices will be closed. Online classes continue as scheduled.

Miles ISD - Due to the icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses and continued precipitation and freezing temperatures, Miles ISD will remain closed Wednesday, February 1st. We will have a 10am start on Thursday, February 2nd, and buses will run hours late. Please stay warm and safe!

Reagan County ISD - RCMS will have a 1:15pm release today (1/30/23) No school on Tuesday or Wednesday. Classes will resume Thursday at normal time.

San Angelo ISD - SAISD campuses and offices will be CLOSED Wednesday, February 1, 2023 and operating on a 2-hour DELAY on Thursday, February 2, 2023 due to inclement weather. 

San Angelo TLCA - School Remains Closed for February 1, 2023. Due to continued winter weather conditions all TLCA San Angelo campus’ will remain closed on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. All extracurricular activities, athletic practices and games have also been canceled (more info to come). We will continue to monitor weather conditions and communicate changes as soon as a determination has been made. Schleicher County ISD - Due to inclement weather and its effect on driving conditions, SCISD will not have school Wednesday Feb. 1, 2023. School should resume on Feb. 2, 2023 unless notified. Stay wam and safe!

Veribest ISD - With the continued below freezing temperatures and the precipitation occurring and expected to occur, Veribest ISD has cancelled school and all extracurricular activities for Wednesday, February 1. Temperatures are expected to begin rising on Thursday so at this time, we will have a delayed start at 10:00 am for Thursday, February 2. Busses will run two hours later on Thursday. If there are any additional changes, that information will be posted on our school Facebook page and our website. We are looking at our basketball games vs Blackwell that were postponed on Tuesday to be made up on Thursday. Times will be released once we get closer to Thursday and will be dependent on temperatures. As always, we are making our decisions based on the safety of our students, staff, and fans.
