SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo's favorite taco shop has decided to move. However don't worry your taco boxes aren't going too far.
Reyna's Tacos has been at the corner of Concho and Abe for years now and have decided to pack up and move next door to 334 W. Concho Ave. When asked why Reynas is moving, owner of the business Anna Reyna said it was time for a revamp.
"We just decided that we had to do what's best for the long run," said Reyna. "Why not revamp things for the new year and refresh. All our tables are getting painted, we have murals coming up soon to adorn the patio. Some of our local artists are painting for us, and overall it's a unique environment and we can't wait to see where it ends up."
Their first location was old gas station that Reyna turned into a restaurant. In similar fashion the Reynas will be transforming something unique into a restaurant. Instead of a body shop, though, Reyna's tacos will now be outside of a two story home.
Making homes into establishments is not a crazy idea. In Austin, Rainey St. is popular for having a number of former residential houses that were turned into bars and venues. Here locally, the Peasant Village, 23 S. Park St., is sort of famous for their home style cooking inside of an old house. Reyna said that their business should stand out because of its unique location and its future plans.
"There is so much potential for it to stand out right in the heart of downtown," said Reyna. "Can't wait to get everything inside painted and finished."
Anna Reyna of Reyna's Tacos will be on the LIVE! Daily Show at 4 p.m. today. Tune in for a fun interview on what's going down at San Angelo's favorite taco spot.
