SAN ANGELO, TX – A new chain restaurant has been issued a permit for a location on Sherwood Way in the shopping center in front of the new Kohl's store.
According to the Building Permit and Inspection Report from Sep. 2022, a commercial building permit is pending for the construction of a new Whataburger at 5855 Sherwood Way. The permit is asking to build $2.8 million dollar building in front of the new Kohl's location in Southwest San Angelo.
If the permit is approved then it would be San Angelo's fourth Whataburger. The other three are located at 19th and N. Bryant, Knickerbocker and Southland, and Sherwood and Alexander.
Whataburger is a 24 hour fast food restaurant that specializes in burgers. The restaurant started in Corpus Christi and is one of Texas' favorite burger joints.

Whataburger just isn't what it used to be. The buns are cold and no one seems to understand that mustard is a condiment not the main course of the burger. Last three times I've eaten at the Whataburger on knickbocker there was enough mustard on the burger to choke a mule.
How a about a Red Robin or something else.

PermalinkThere was a recent survey that identified the most popular burger chains in every state. The result here in Texas was A&W, which I can't believe. I cannot remember eating at one ever.

PermalinkWhataburger has to be the worst burger in town now. Enjoy the aroma of days old onions on everything you order. The funk of armpit on your drink lid because they don't change their gloves when handling food or themselves. It's disgusting to say the least.

PermalinkI’m glad to see I’m not the only one disappointed with whataburger the past few years. I’ll add that making people do the double line in the drive through is pointless when your still sitting there for 20 min and end up with a cold and grease soaked burger
