Goodfellow Air Force Base South Gate Closed for 6 Weeks

 

SAN ANGELO – The South Gate at Goodfellow Air Force Base off of S. Chadbourne Street is closed for construction that began June 20.

According to GAFB, the gate closure is part of scheduled maintenance and road repair. The gate is expected to be closed for approximately six weeks.

During this time, the North Gate (Paint Rock Rd.) is the primary entry point to include Visitor Control Center operations.

To accommodate rush-hour traffic the South Chadbourne Crash Gate (east of South Gate on Chadbourne St.) is open during the following hours:

 

  •             Inbound Traffic Only: Monday - Friday, 5:30 - 8:30 a.m.
  •             Outbound Traffic Only: Monday - Friday, 3:30 - 6 p.m.

 

The South Gate is available for pedestrian traffic Mon - Fri, 3 – 9 p.m., weekends, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Commercial Vehicle Gate remains operational for commercial traffic.
