BRONTE, TX – A massive new ranch and hardware store has opened up in Coke County.
Blackburn Ranch & Hardware Supply opened it's doors to the public on Saturday, Mar. 26 by hosting a huge celebration featuring free food, music, and activities for children.
During the party, owner of the store Harley Blackburn gave a speech on what made him launch this huge project in Bronte. The Blackburns moved into Coke County in 2016. Since then they fell in love with the city.
"One day driving through town the hardware store was for sale. I bought it." said Blackburn. "I bought it because it's been a lifelong dream. I've always wanted a hardware store and I talked to my son about it. He was onboard so we decided to make this the largest ranch and hardware supply business in Coke County." A number of appreciations were given out during the speech but one resident of Bronte stood out amongst the rest.
"What you see here is just a tid bit of what's going to happen." said Blackburn. "If it wasn't for Kerry Rosson we would probably still looking for a hardware supplier. He convinced me to take on Origill which gives us the ability to take on Lowes and Home Depot on our pricing points."
Blackburn Ranch & Hardware Supply is located at the corner of US Hwy 277 and McCaulley Rd. They offer everything from hardware, feed, hunting supplies, to retail clothing.
The business is open Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m.
