Crews Began Concreting the Red Arroyo Crossing. Will It Be Finished by Christmas?

SAN ANGELO, TX – Crews with Reese Albert are currently in the final stages of construction on the low water crossing on Southwest at the Red Arroyo Wednesday.

As previously reported, on Oct. 21, the City of San Angelo approved to change the construction plans of the low water crossing rebuild. The change made crews put in concrete over the Red Arroyo instead of asphalt. For more see: City Council Approves Paving Southwest Blvd. Over Red Arroyo with Concrete

After another month of delays, due to a nation wide shortage of rebar, concrete is being poured.

With this update, it is expected that the road will be reopened by the end of the year or the start of the new year.

This project began in April 2021.
