Brown County Commissioners Vote Down Plans for Solar Farm

 

BROWNWOOD, TX – After a close vote, the Brown County Commissioners Court voted against a plan for a massive solar farm in the county.

The commissioners voted 3-2 to specifically against creating a reinvestment zone that would allow IP Radian a tax abatement agreement for a solar farm project near Brookesmith.

The proposed project would have covered approximately 2,500 acres with millions of panels. 

Approximately ten citizens showed up to the meeting, with most of them being against the project.
