SAN ANGELO, TX – The national chicken wing shortage hit San Angelo Tuesday .
Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 4251 Sherwood Way, has announced that it is out of traditional wings due to the national wing shortage.
This is just another thing that has been effected by the pandemic.
This is the last time chicken wings were in a shortage was 2011.
The reason for the shortage is unknown but the demand for traditional wings is much higher than boneless wings.
In January the average price for a pound of chicken wings was $2.27. In the month of March that number climbed to $2.65.
Last year at this time, wings were available for $1.81 a pound, on average.
