The Future of Señor Changs

SAN ANGELO, TX – One of the most unique restaurants in San Angelo has decided to shut down their original location and change it into another extraordinary fast dining restaurant.

Back in 2018 Senor Changs moved out of their food truck and into a permanent building on the corner of Van Buren and the Houston Hearte Frontage Rd. Since then they have moved into a massive location on N Chadbourne st.

The original location on Van Buren was closed down in 2021 after dealing with water issues but owners did not think that it would take long for them to reopen. Now that it has been weeks they have decided to go in a different direction.

"Well the Chadbourne location has really taken off since we have combined stores and it has left us with a tough decision on what is best for the long term growth of our little company with with big dreams," stated Adrian Soto on Señor Chang's Facebook. "The one store is now exceeding what both stores were previously doing combined and our productivity and flexibility with staff has also improved, so we are in awe of the support Angelo has given us to allow us to even be in this situation."

With the growth, Soto believes they can go a different route with the original building that will give San Angelo another creative touch on food.

"We have decided to not open Van Buren as Senor Changs and move forward with another concept that we have been considering for the last couple of years," stated Soto. "We hope you understand that there are many ideas of what we personally feel Angelo is lacking in the restaurant world and the goal is to fill those holes and this helps us do that a bit faster. This will be the last fast casual restaurant we anticipate to create before moving on to a couple of full service concepts that I feel will add to our great city which already has tons of great food."

Senor Changs is located at 1822 N Chadbourne and is open Mon-Sat 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
