Gov. Abbott's State of the State: Brimming with Promise

AUSTIN, TX – Texas Governor Greg Abbott Monday night said the state of Texas "is brimming with promise" in his annual State of the State address.

The Governor made a list of his priorities by making them emergency items for the current legislative session.  They are:

  • The expansion of broadband access
  • Pass laws that prevent cities from defunding police
  • Fix the flawed bail system to keep dangerous criminals off the streets
  • Election integrity
  • Civil liability protection from frivolous lawsuits during the pandemic

"Just as Texans have united and put their differences aside to support one another through the pandemic, we in the capitol must also come together to work on their behalf. We must seize this opportunity to make our state healthier, safer, freer, and more prosperous for all who call Texas home."  Abbott said during his remarks.
