The Local Newspaper Is Now Being Printed 186 Miles Away

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Standard-Times has once again moved the location where the paper is printed.

As previously reported, on April 28, the SAST "went dark" as well as put the massive million dollar building up for sale. Here is the story: Another Nail in the Coffin: Storied Newspaper Building Empty and for Sale

Now the Abilene Reporter News has reported that the printing press is shut down. The final print made at Abilene's printing press was made Sunday. Now the paper will be printed in Lubbock.

Since 2009 the SAST was printed in Abilene along with the ARN.

ARN editor Greg Jaklewicz says that the move will cut costs and make printing the papers more efficient.

The local newspaper will now be printed and produced 186 miles from San Angelo.
