Bar Defies Gov. Abbott's Phase 1 Executive Order

BIG SPRING, TX – In direct defiance to Governor Abbott’s Open Texas plan, the Apartment 9 Saloon in Howard County opened for business on Monday.

According to CBS7, under Phase 1 bars are not allowed to reopen, but that did not stop bar owner Edward Roach.

"We have been closed for 54 days, and I've got ten employees that have families that they cannot feed," said Roach. "I believe that what has happened here has been unconstitutional. I don't believe our government should be able to tell us when we can open or close our businesses."

Howard County Judge Kathryn Wiseman told local media that the TABC is investigating the saloon.
