HOUSTON, TX – The Houston based Texas oilfield service industry giant Halliburton shut down two of its operational service centers on Wednesday, one of which was located in San Antonio, TX. Moving forward the company now plans to move operations to numerous field camps located throughout the Eagle Ford Shale play of South Texas. This comes not long after laying off an additional 240 of their Duncan, Oklahoma based employees as record low oil prices continue to reduce demand for the company's products and services. Throughout the month of April the oilfield service giant laid off nearly 1,500 employees including the aforementioned leaving 1,463 without jobs.
