SAN ANGELO, TX -- As millions of Americans receive an Economic Impact Payment, they will also be receiving a letter in the mail; an official correspondence from the White House.
Those who receive a stimulus payment will be mailed a bilingual letter signed by President Trump that informs recipients the president was part of the legislative process that approved the CARES Act. The letter also details the amount of money the individual received and the method it was delivered.
"Our great country is experiencing an unprecedented public health and economic challenge as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic," said Trump in the letter. "On March 27, 2020, Congress passed with overwhelming bipartisan support the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, which I proudly signed into law."
In the letter, Trump also thanked Congress for its hard work and effort in fast-tracking the $2.2 trillion bill that provided "much-needed economic relief to the American people."
"I want to thank the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate for working so quickly with my administration for working with my administration to fast-track this $2.2 trillion."
"Every citizen should take tremendous pride in the selflessness, courage, and compassion of our people," said Trump. "Just, as we have before, America will triumph yet again -- and rise to new heights of greatness."
According to the IRS, as of April 17th, it would be sending out more than 89 million Economic Impact Payments across the country.
Texas alone received 7,812,382 payments, second only to California. Texans received $14,398,065,881 in Economic Impact Payments under the CARES Act.
The document is a two-sided document that is available in Spanish on the other side. The letter's envelope includes a notice number of 1444 (EN-SP),
