San Angelo Live Sponsors Local Blood Drive
SAN ANGELO, TX – As hospitals across the country face blood shortages amid the Coronavirus pandemic, San Angelo Live will be sponsoring a blood drive happening next week.
Keeping blood banks stocked with all blood types is essential for local hospitals in San Angelo and the surrounding areas. The blood that is donated in San Angelo is used to save the lives of patients in this community, so give the gift of life and donate.
The Center for Disease Control reminds potential donors that is is safe to donate if you are well during the COVID-19 health crisis.
"In healthcare settings all across the United States, donated blood is a lifesaving, essential part of caring for patients. The need for donated blood is constant, and blood centers are open and in urgent need of donations. CDC encourages people who are well to continue to donate blood if they are able, even if they are practicing social distancing because of COVID-19," stated the CDC on their website.
