Coronavirus: H-E-B Stores to Add Plastic Partitions in Checkout Lanes

SAN ANGELO, TX – H-E-B has announced it will be implementing new safety measures that will further protect staff and patrons.

According to My San Antonio, the retailer will be installing protective partitions in its stores to ensure social distancing. The protective shields will soon be available in stores all across the state.

An H-E-B spokesperson told local media that the retailers’ warehouses are “packed” with supplies and the employees are trying to stock items as quickly as customers are shopping.

Panic shopping has created temporarily shortages of items such as toilet paper, milk, and water as shoppers buy multiples of certain items in stores all across the country. In response, H-E-B has enforced product limits to ensure everyone has access to items.
