SAN ANGELO, TX – Hundreds of hunting enthusiasts converged on the McNease Convention Center in San Angelo Saturday evening for the sixth annual Safari Club San Angelo Chapter's annual banquet.
The sold out event featured live and silent auctions raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for wildlife conservation efforts and local organizations.

The live auction featured 31 items including a SCI Gun of the Year 2020; a bronze statue entitled "The Challenge" valued at $39,000; a Crocodile, Kudu and mixed gun hunt in South Africa; a .50 cal Barrett rifle; and a darted rhino hunt in South Africa among other hunts and items.
Special guests included the President of Safari Club International - SCI, Steve Skold, and the President of the Safari Club International Foundation, Warren Sackman.
The mission of the SCI is to protect the freedom to hunt and to promote wildlife conservation worldwide while its purposes are to advocate, preserve and protect the rights of all hunters and to promote safe, legal and ethical hunting and related activities.
The San Angelo chapter of SCI raises money not only to contribute to SCI, but to help local organizations and needs in the community.
In 2019 the SCI San Angelo Chapter awarded $135,600 in grants to the following:

- Wild Sheep Foundation
From 2015 to 2019 the SCI San Angelo Chapter awarded $413,440 in grants.
