WATCH: Toys for Tots Cook Off Raises Funds for Over 100 Bicycles

SAN ANGELO, TX – Dozens of bar-b-que cooking teams converged on Knickerbocker Rd. in San Angelo across from Mitchell Toyota Saturday for the 3rd annual Marines Toys for Tots Brisket Cook off.

Organizers say 32 teams competed in jalapeno poppers and brisket.

Watch video from the cook off:

New for this year was a kids division where the youngsters competed in grilling ribeye steaks.

The event began because Toys for Tots regulations restrict toy purchases to $30 so most bicycles are not in that price range.

Cook-off director Jay Jones says they raise money through the $100 team entry fees and donations and purchase bikes that are then donated to Toys for Tots.

U.S. Marines were on hand to judge the steaks, poppers and brisket.

Results are posted on the San Angelo Toys for Tots Facebook page.
