SAN ANGELO, TX -- Today through Saturday, Concho Valley PAWS will be hosting a special Name Your Own Price Adoption Event at the San Angelo Animal Shelter at 3142 US Highway 67 N.
All adult dogs and cats are available for visitation at the shelter from 10 am-6 pm through Friday and on Saturday from 1pm-4pm. Approved adopters many name their price for the adoption. The pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and collared with personalized ID tags.
"The shelter is full and this is fun way to encourage adopters to come and select a pet for their family." said Executive Director, Jenie Wilson.
The shelter has seen an increase of homeless puppies and kittens over the last few weeks and as a result, the organization is looking for fosters as well.
PAWS will also offer pet owners $25 spay and neuter vouchers. The voucher sale will be at the San Angelo Animal Shelter and will begin at 1pm. Funding and participating clinics limit the number of available vouchers so the vouchers are sold on a first come, first serve basis and will likely be depleted within the hour. Cash and check are accepted and only one voucher per person in line.
Comments
I have 2 comments, first off, if someone in town would help neighborhoods control the stray and feral cats that would help with the cats. My neighborhood was over run with feral cats. Several neighbors called everyone asking for help. The only response was you catch them first, then we will see if we can do anything.Or the famous answer, " We don't accept feral cats and wont do anything to help you." Every try to catch a feral cat. not an easy thing to do. so they kept on having kittens.
2nd complaint. I have thought about adopting another dog for my kids. We only have 1. So I started filling out PAWS application. I was long and way to NOSY. I did not finish the application. I have nothing to hid about my dog, but give me a break. I thought they would want visitation rights and dog support with all their questions. I know they want the animals to have a good home but some of the questions were just too crazy. So we never got another dog.
