WATCH: Missing in America Project Honors Unclaimed Veteran's Remains

EDEN, TX -- The Missing in America project drove the ashes of 17 unclaimed veterans down HWY 87 through Eden on it’s way to the Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio recently.

Missing in America is a project, led by Joyce Earnest, where unclaimed veterans are given the respect they deserve by taking the cremated remains and giving them one last ceremony.

On April 5, the ride started in Amarillo and ended in Kerrville after the first day. The town of Eden was one of the cities driven through on that day.

The band of motorcycles arrived at the cemetery led by police escort. Once there a each veteran will be carried with a flag to the front and a folding flag ceremony will take place. The finale will be a three shots from a rifle, taps being played, and then a flyover by a military helicopter.
