SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Office of Emergency Management for the City of San Angelo and Tom Green County will host a public meeting on Tuesday, March 19, to gather public input for its Hazard Mitigation Plan.
According to City of San Angelo Public Information Officer Anthony Wilson, the meeting will be from 6 p.m.-7p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center, 8485 Hanger Road. The public is invited.
The meeting will offer a project overview from H2O Partners, Inc., a consultant to the project, and will seek input from citizens. The input will help the project team to identify and analyze potential hazards affecting residents and to recommend possible actions to reduce their impact. Hazards can include floods, tornadoes, wildfires, winter storms and other major disasters.
At surveymonkey.com/r/CoSATomGreenHMAP citizens can also take a public survey.
The goal of the Hazard Mitigation Plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards by identifying and implementing cost-effective mitigation actions.
Questions about the plan can be addressed to Rachel Andrews, a mitigation specialist for H2O Partners, at [email protected].
