SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Sunset Mall has started a renovation on the old Sears portion of the mall on Tuesday.
Sears closed it's doors in January of last year after having one of the largest portions of the mall. Sears was located on the east side of the mall.
Since the doors have closed, the section of the mall has been untouched until Tuesday. Retail Construction Services L.L.C has taken the job for the renovation.
Accoriding to the superintendent of RC L.L.C Thomas James started on Tuesday, and at this point doesn't have an exact date of completion.
"Sunset mall is working towards positive growth in 2019, and is expecting to have an announcement in the coming months." said Sabrina Tatch General Manager of Sunset Mall. "Retailers like to make their own announcement when entering the market, and we respect their wishes to announce on their time schedule."
J.C Penny, Dillard's, Marshals, and Bealls are already inside the mall, but Sunset Mall is excited to see the change in scenery.
"We are excited to bring in these new tenants to San Angelo," said Tatch. "We will continue to create the best shopping experience for the community."
