Christmas at Old Ft. Concho Damp Outside But the Pancakes Were Warm & Dry

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Stables at Ft. Concho were warm and crowded Saturday morning as patrons enjoyed a pancake and sausage breakfast with all the trimmings prepared each year by the San Angelo Lions Clubs.

Santa Clause was seated on the stage at the Stables and there was a line of children eager to tell him what was on their Christmas lists.

The crowd was friendly and jovial as volunteers carted them across wet parking lots to and from their vehicles.

The parade grounds were damp but the light drizzle was forecast to end by noon Saturday.

Most of the goings on were inside the buildings.

The cannon and the re-enactors were arriving preparing to do their part.

Vendors were keeping warm in the barracks buildings anticipating lots of traffic hopefully to make some sales.

Christmas at Old Ft. Concho continues all day Saturday and Sunday til mid afternoon.
